The Nepali New Year is celebrated today with much joy and with high expectations for ourselves AND our community for the new year!

Papa's House and Tokha municipality joined together to conduct a workshop marking International Women's Day. A workshop on Menopause and Selfcare to all the Past Municipal Members of Tokha Municipality was conducted. The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Sushmita Thapa (Director of Operation) and Ms. Preksha Shakya (Registered Nurse).


We celebrate Chelsea Dietrich's birthday every year, filled with gratitude for what the Chelsea Center has provided for us--staff, women, children, and community. It is a joyous place filled with learning and a deep sense of community.


Our day-student “aunties” were both serious and proud taking their terminal examinations. They had studied hard and were well-prepared. These students continue to impress us with their dedication, resilience, pride and PROGRESS!


How about practicing how to speak in public? It takes having something to say (a sometimes random) topic--note the slips of paper) and then figuring out HOW to say it so that the audience understands and even enjoys what you tell them!


Valentine's Day had always been one of our favorite holidays to celebrate--with love, joy, and FUN!


Two programs focusing on safe practices on the internet were held for the women in our daytime classes and a similar one for our school age children. Our main focus was to promote safe internet practices and avoid possibly harmful uses of the internet.


A HUGE thank you to teachers and administrators at the Chelsea Center for organizing such a wonderful array of FUN learning experiences during the past few weeks! It's great to spend time with each other AND to learn about so many new things!!

Sometimes it's great to relax with friends and a movie!


Dance and drama were also part of the New Year activities at the Chelsea Center!


What fun to have special projects to do each day of "camp" at the Chelsea Center! Making "dreamcatchers" was a great way to start off the new year!


It's the new year with a short break from school--time for WINTER CAMP at the Chelsea Center! It's also time to make some plans for growth in the new year. Art classes culminated with a juried art show in the library of the Chelsea Center. The final products demonstrated both skill and beauty and the judges were pleased!

Sometimes it's just plain fun to watch a movie together! We were lucky to have some relaxed time over our winter break! The Community Room at our Chelsea Center is such a wonderful setting for all sorts of activities.
